Rock climbing has an amazing way of connecting people of all ages and places. I recently had the pleasure of documenting an adaptive climbing event at Stoney Point Park put together by the newly launched non profit Stoked Adventures.
“Stoked Adventures is a program dedicated to sharing outdoor adventures as an aid in personal growth. As long time surfers and rock climbers, we all have a story of how the ocean and the mountains have helped us through difficult times. We believe the challenge nature presents us in these two environments is an opportunity to learn, become stronger, and more confidently face the challenges of every day life.” (https://www.eat-sleep-surf.com/stokedadventures)
It was amazing to see the youth push themselves to their personal limits getting to the top of the giant sand stone rock formations. Although we were all wearing masks during this event, I noticed you could still see the smiles in people’s eyes and that is a beautiful thing 🙂
