Giant water polished granite boulders line the Kern River canyon along the 178 and the bouldering opportunities are bountiful when the waters are low enough to give access to the rocks. Thanks Spencer Josif for inviting me for a second time to check out this gem of a spot along the Kern River. During other parts of the year these boulders are engulfed by water and not accessible. The conditions on this day could not have been better for our small crew who consisted of Spencer, his lady Jenna, brother AJ, and myself.
One of the highlights of the day was to work on a climb called “Kid Dynamite” rated V9. A slippery and powerful sequence of precision moves are required to make it to the top. What a classic line this is, congrats to AJ for sending!
